BirdJam, the popular bird song identification tool for the Apple iPod, has a new module that formats and organizes bird songs from the Voices of Costa Rican Birds: Caribbean Slope CD set by David L. Ross, Jr. and Bret M. Whitney. Other supported CD collections include the Stokes Field Guide to Bird Song— East and West regions, and Bird Songs of South­eastern Arizona and Sonora, Mexico by Geoffrey A. Keller. Once a customer has the CD sets, the birdJam Maker software ($19.99) can be purchased and installed to organize the bird calls on an iPod. It’s currently available for Windows users; a Mac version will be available soon.
