Bird Food with a Twist
At one time Global Harvest Foods was pretty much a mid-west to west coast packer and distributor of bird food.  But the acquisition of Scotts Miracle Gro bird food division last year gave the company an immediate nation-wide footprint with production and distribution centers located near key transportation hubs throughout the country.

The company’s best known label, ‘Audubon Park’ is introducing a new mix with a block-long moniker “Audubon Park Songbird Selection NutriThrive.”  We’ll just call it NutriThrive for short.  It’s a mix of songbirds’ favorite seeds that are coated with an oil-based, nutrient rich material which contains all the vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids they need, but are becoming tougher to find in the real world.  It contains no filler seeds and is touted as the most nutritionally balanced mix on the market.

As our own needs are changing due to climate change, pollution and other influences, so are songbirds’ needs. Ed Mills, co-founder and principal of Global Harvest says “that’s why we’re excited to add Nutrithrive to our Audubon Park brand. It will help bring the health of our backyard birds back to what it should be.”

Birds respond to quality, and the premium nutrient-packed seeds in this new mix will attract the most wanted songbirds to backyard feeders and have a significant impact on the overall health of our wildlife as a result.

Pondlife: a Swimmer’s Journal (Paperback)
The ponds of Hampstead Heath are small oases; fragments of wild nature nestled in the heart of north-west London. For the best part of his life Al Alvarez--poet, critic, novelist, rock-climber and poker player--has swum in them almost daily.

An athlete in his youth, Alvarez, now in his eighties, chronicles what it is to grow old with humor and fierce honesty. The journal, originally published in 2013, is now available as a paperback.
